I started with a cloth simulation where I intentionally key framed aspects of three separate pieces of geometry to develop numerous compositions. I then created specific motion designs that I mapped to the cloth sim with the aim of complimenting the flow of the 3D fabric mesh. Using the physically based render engine I was able to have the motion design reflect back onto itself, causing some beautiful results. Also this allowed some subtle warm highlights onto the black and white designs.

To achieve a dramatically paced edit, I combined the smooth movement of the flowing cloth mesh, varying the tempo of the motion design, and pacing with abrupt jump cuts. This approach resulted in a bold and modern design with a unique cadence.
